Dalai Lama wrote to Uddhav Thackeray on issue of Monsoon loss
Says he has asked the Dalai Lama Trust to make a donation towards relief and rescue efforts
Dharamsala: H H the Dalai Lama have shown his concern over the loss in Maharashtra by the severe monsoon and wrote to CM Maharashtra on this issue.
Moved by reports in the news about the loss of life, damage to property and the suffering faced by so many people in Maharashtra as a result of devastating flooding over the last few days, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has written to the Chief Minister, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, to offer his prayers and condolences to the families who have lost loved ones.
“I understand that the State government and concerned authorities are making every effort to help those affected by severe monsoon rains,” he added.
“As a gesture of our solidarity with the people of Maharashtra, I have asked the Dalai Lama Trust to make a donation towards relief and rescue efforts”, he said.
