Ludhiana, June 28, 2023: Dance and ramp walk competitions, and other cultural events were organized under the theme “My Hostel, My Home” in the premises of hostel no. 6 of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). Resident students participated with great enthusiasm in all the activities which were held under the aegis of Director Students’ Welfare. The PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal was the chief guest, while Dr Pardeep Kumar Chhuneja, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare; Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director, Skill Development Centre; and Dr Rishi Inder Singh Gill, Estate Officer, were the guests of honour.
Sharing the unforgettable days of his hostel stay and the kind of belonging-ness they had for their hostel at that time, Dr Gosal stated that such recreational events helped the students to manage stress. Dr Gosal further added that the same attitude of owning the place where you spend the most precious and productive years of your life has to be inculcated in the students. Later, he distributed prizes among the winners, and had a dinner and a brief discussion with the students.
Dr Jaura applauded the efforts made by the faculty and the students in organizing the function.
Dance and ramp walk competitions were judged by Dr Jaswinder Brar, Co-ordinator of Cultural Activities; Dr Anureet Kaur Chandi and Dr Sumedha Bhandari from PAU.
Dr Brar congratulated all the participants for their wonderful performances and encouraged them to participate in various cultural competitions.
Earlier, Dr Priya Katyal, Warden and Microbiologist, Department of Microbiology; and Dr Manisha Thakur, Assistant Warden and Olericulturist, School of Organic Farming, welcomed the esteemed guests and the judges.
Later, Dr Priya Katyal proposed a vote of thanks.
