Dandiya Night celebrated at DLF Gardencity

Gurgaon: To mark the beginning of festive season, Dandiya Night was organized at DLF Gardencity. The event was held at DLF Gardencity Sports Complex, Sector 91, Gurgaon. Residents dressed in ethnic attire turned up in huge numbers to participate in the celebrations with lot of fervor.‘Dandiya Night’ commenced with the performance of a professional troupe, which had been especially invited for the program. People of all age groups joined them and played Dandiya to traditional as well Bollywood numbers.Other main attractions included activity area for children and stalls offering a variety of scrumptious food.

Ms. Anupama Aggarwal, resident of DLF Gardencity said, “We are delighted that ‘Dandiya Night’ was organized during Navratri. Although Dandiya has its origins in Gujrat, over the past few years, this lively and colorful dance form has gained popularity in almost every corner of the country’’. She further added, ‘Celebrating the spirit of Indian culture along with family and neighbours was truly joyous and memorable’.

Speaking on the occasion, Col. Tejbir Singh, AVP (Township), DLF said, “It has been our endeavour to celebrate all the important festivals at DLF Gardencity. Today’s event was organized keeping in mind the multi-cultural background of the residents. We were elated to see that everyone participated in the celebrations with great enthusiasm. We believe festivals are a medium to remain connected with our rich heritage and culture”.
