Jalandhar, April 11, 2016: D.A.V College, Jalandhar City Post Graduate Department of English Language and Literature felicitated two meritorious students of the department today. Tania Shri of B.A English Honors Semester V and Akash Dhawan of B. A English Honors Semester III has both secured 2nd position each in the English Honors examination held by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The students were congratulated and felicitated by Principal, Dr. B.B. Sharma and Prof. Salil Kumar Uppal, Head of Department English on their excellent result and laudable performance. The Principal and the Head of the department encouraged the students to aim higher, dream bigger and achieve more in future.
DAV College Principal Dr. B.B Sharma was visibly proud of the department of English, its brilliant faculty and the meritorious students who have brought laurels to the college. He inspired the students to strive harder and corner first position in the next university examination. Other members of the staff present on the occasion were Prof. Archana Oberoi.Prof. Salil Uppal, Head of department English gives congratulations to the toppers and warm greetings on their signal success in the examination. He quoted, the department of English is known for its brilliant, tireless, highly devoted and dedicated faculty that leaves no stone unturned to chisel and shape the future of its students. I am sure the department of English will have many more such occasions to celebrate the academic success of its talented students in the days to come. Many other inspired, diligent and hard working students of the department would hopefully bag top positions in the university in different examinations in near future."
