DAVIET lifted overall trophy in the category of women and runners up trophy in category of men in IKG PTU chess tournaments (2019)

Jalandhar, September 11, 2019: DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar lifted overall trophy and gold medal in category of women and runner up trophy and silver medal in category of men in chess tournament (2019) organized by IKG PTU on September 5-6, 2019 in University campus. The number of teams which participated in the category of men was 14 and in the category of women was 5. A colossal number of distinguished personalities relished the competition. The spectators observed the cutthroat contest in almost all the round robin matches. Dr.Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET congratulated the winners and Chess coach Amanpreet Singh. He admired the sports and sportsmanship for overall development of the youth. He highlighted that it is through participation in sports that students can inculcate the much desired trait of being disciplined which is of utmost importance if they want to make it big in life. He motivated the winners to participate with full gusto in future also. J.S. Dhillon, sports incharge, DAVIET, congratulated the winners for their grand victory and appreciated the day-night efforts of the Chess players.
