Day 2 of Summer School at PU
Chandigarh, June 13, 2019: Day 2of the five day Summer School of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) being held at the Department of Physics, Panjab University, was mainly knitted with Physics and Chemistry demonstration, in which science was made simple and best by use of daily used items. In the first session, Dr. R. K. Awasthi from St. George College, Agra, gave low-cost demonstration to understand basic principles of Science Mechanics, optics and magnetism. He corrected various misconceptions which are prevailing among students. Dr. J.S. Sehrawat from Department of Anthropology apprised the students about the science of mankind that is Anthropology and its applied aspects. He discussed the anthropological case study related to identification of Ajnalaskeltal remains. Students had healthy interaction and showed deep interest in pursuing higher education in Anthropology. Dr.Rohit K. Sharma from department of Chemistry gave glimpses of the role biomolecules like DNA, Proteins, fatty acids and carbohydrates in our body.
