Jalandhar, December 6, 2018: On the third day of the ninth 5-day INSPIRE camp at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar participants learnt the nuances of Physics.
The day started with the talk of Dr.Arvind Dhillon, IISER, Mohali. In his discourse he explained the universality of sciences in a very interesting way. He also gave a vast knowledge about the three pillars of science : Logics, observations and community. Further he enlightened the students about big bang theory and the four fundamental forces that exist in nature. He ended up his lecture by motivating the students to be curious about the origin of Sciences.
The next talk was delivered by Dr.Atul Khanna on the topic “Basic Science to Technological Spin-Offs: Challenging Career Opportunities for Science Graduates". Addressing the participating students Dr.Khanna elaborated the significance of science and technology of present scenario and also highlighted various career options and opportunities for the science students. Along with this a practical oriented workshop was organized by Dr Neetu Chopra, Department of Physics, KMV. She demonstrated various hands on experiment such as hair massager, magic Tap, plasma globe and many more. She also discussed various types of waves in detail and related the experiments with the daily life activities which made the workshop more interesting. The Principal of the college Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude to the learned speakers and motivated the students to participate in the camp with full zeal.
