Day 5: Rally and Door to Door Awareness Campaign on Gender Equality & Focus on Swacchta Abhiyan & Environment Sustainability
Chandigarh, October 14, 2024: In an effort to promote gender equality and environmental sustainability, Day 5 of Seven Days Special NSS Camp conducted multiple activities which included rally and door to door awareness campaign on gender equality & focus on swacchta abhiyan & environmental sustainability. The entire day aimed to engage the volunteers in creating awareness through rally and door to door campaign about women's health, safety & empowerment thereby fostering a community that supports and uplifts women in all aspects of life along with focus on cleanliness, and environmental conservation.
The volunteers started from college and walked towards Art Museum, Sector-10, Chandigarh raising slogans on women’s rights and gender equality. In the later part of the day, they were interacting with local people strengthening community ties, encouraging solidarity and support for women's empowerment initiatives. Furthermore, volunteers dedicatedly involved themselves in cleaning historical monuments in area opposite the museum and committed themselves towards a cleaner, greener future for our communities.
Principal of the college, Prof.Sudha Katyal applauded the efforts of NSS wing and highlighted the significance of such rallies. She further emphasised that college makes conscious efforts to create a safer and more equitable environment for women, ultimately benefiting society as a whole. She further appreciated NSS volunteers for participating actively in the Swacchta Abhiyan and stressed that their involvement is crucial for fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.
