Day 6 - 15th Monsoon Regatta Concludes

The 15th Monsoon Regatta concluded with a super monsoon shower drenching the race course during the last race. 

As expected Govardhan Pallara and Deekshita Komaravelly both of Telangana  won the boy's and girl's gold medals and trophies with close to no opposition and sailed the last race with ease 

Govardhan Pallara won the Monsoon Regatta Trophy and the SH  Babu Trophy for the most consistent sailor and the boy's gold medal. A triple is not often won.

“This is my last year in the under-16 and I hope to do a few Internationals representing India before December this year.” , said a beaming Govardhan.

When asked his coach Suheim Sheikh said that in a few days, Govardhan along with Deekshita Komaravelly will be leaving for Plymouth in the UK to represent India at the British Nationals and the World Championships under the able guidance of Dharani Laveti who will serve as their guardian and assistant coach. 

Aakash Tangai of Myrore and Rizwan Mohammad of Telangana won the boys silver and bronze respectively while Shreya Krishna of Tamilnadu and Shagun Jha of MP won the girls silver and bronze respectively.

Local lad Sathwik Dhoki of Udbhav School shocked the fleet by winning the 12th race today leaving the top fleet in his wake. 

The final tally for the under-16 Optimist Single Hander Dinghy is as follows while all other fleets finished their races yesterday
