Ludhiana, April 11, 2023: Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik on Tuesday appealed to the residents to get their Aadhaar information updated.
Malik said that Government had initiated an exercise to strengthen citizens' Aadhaar by updating the latest Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents. She said that residents who had enrolled for Aadhaar prior to 2015 need to get documents updated in Aadhaar. She said that residents must update their Aadhaar by uploading supportive documents including the latest Proof of Identity (POI) or Proof of Address (POA) documents at the nearest Aadhaar center.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the residents needed to revalidate their information by submitting the required documents, even though there is no change in their demographic data. If the mobile number is registered in Aadhaar, residents can avail this service on-line by logging in at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/. She stressed that Aadhaar had emerged as the most widely accepted proof of Identity with provision to identify a resident with biometric authentication and is being used to avail numerous government services/benefits
While reviewing the status of Aadhaar, Malik urged residents to enroll children in Aadhaar and keep their Aadhaar updated including mobile in Aadhaar. She also emphasized the need to verify the Aadhaar, before accepting it as proof of identity as it would help in identifying fake/photoshopped Aadhaar cards.
