DC & CP accompany DEO (Secondary) Lakhvir Singh to his office today; assure fulsome support
Say no person would be allowed to disrespect our teachers
Ludhiana, January 3, 2022: In a good gesture, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today assured fulsome support for DEO (Secondary) Lakhvir Singh as well as all government officials. They said that no person would be allowed to disrespect the government officials and if any person does so, strict action would be taken against them.
The DC and CP today accompanied the DEO (Secondary) to his office today. DC’s father Jeet Ram Sharma, who himself retired as a government school teacher, also accompanied the officers.
The DC said that Lakhvir Singh is a polite and hardworking officer along with a thorough gentleman. He said that an unfortunate incident took place with the DEO (Secondary) by the parents association few days ago. He said that he along with the Commissioner of Police specially came to his office to give a larger message that anyone misbehaving with any government official would not be spared.
He said that if any person has any complaint or grievance, they should meet him personally in his office any time. There is a system of doing things, but misbehaving and disrespecting a government official would not be tolerated at any cost.
The DC further stated that he holds the highest regard for teachers in our society. “My father Jeet Ram Sharma and mother retired as government school teachers, while my wife still teaches in a government school. We as a family of educationists stand rock solid behind Lakhvir Singh,” said the DC.
CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that an FIR has been registered against the person behind this incident and he is on the run. He assured that special teams have been formed to arrest the accused person. He said that its also a time to introspect for our society.
“Our society should introspect what kind of message they want to give for our coming generations. Such incidents leave a big question mark for our society. Even if there is any grievance or difference of opinion, there are various other methods, but no one take law into their own hands, else they would be severely punished as per law,” he said.
DEO (Secondary) Lakhvir Singh thanked the DC and CP for standing rock solid behind him as well as the entire teaching fraternity.
