DC congratulates Ludhianvis for reaching 20.75 lakh mark in covid vaccination drive

Ludhiana, September 1, 2021: Congratulating the people of Ludhiana district for 20.75 lakh mark in its Covid vaccination drive, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that achieving this target was a success of every single citizen of Ludhiana.
Interacting with the residents in his weekly Facebook live session on official page of DPRO Ludhiana, DC stated that without people's cooperation it was impossible to vaccinate such a large amount of people and becoming first district in the state to cover 20.75 lakh people in this drive that started on January 16, 2021.
He added that such large level Immunization would help to tackle the third wave more effectively. He said that vaccine is the only way to return to normalcy and the district administration will leave no stone unturned by vaccinating every eligible before the advent of the possible third wave.
The DC lauded the efforts of those vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success especially health teams besides also hailed the contribution of industries, NGOs and resident welfare societies which organized inoculation camps in the district.
He also told that despite cases are being reported in the single digit, there is a greater need to be vigilance as the virus is still among us and we have to be very cautious. He asked the people to continue to observe Covid-19 appropriate behaviour including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and observing hand hygiene.
