Ferozepur, June 24, 2014: A high-level meeting to deal with probable threat of floods during monsoons was held on Tuesday at District Administrative Complex (DAC). The meeting was convened by DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur in which, the officials and representatives from BSF, Army, NDRF, Police, Home Guard took part.
Kharbanda, on this occasion, stressed on the need of establishing Control Rooms at District and Sub-Division level. He also said the officials of the various departments to arrange tents, boats and other necessary belongings which could be helpful during the crisis. Besides, he instructed the Education and Panchayat Department officials to designate such places which could be used during the crisis. He ordered the police officials to install wireless sets in Administrative Officers vehicles such as SDM and ADC and others.
He also instructed the officials to use latest social media such as Whatsapp to stay connected with each other. Besides he especially brought into the notice of various officials neither to switch off their phone nor to change their number without notice.
Charanjit Singh, SDM, Zira, K R Kansal, SDM, Guruharsahai, Lakhbir Singh, SP, Y K Gupta, Civil Surgeon and representatives from BSF, Army and Home Guards marked their presence in the meeting.
