Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today directed all government departments to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes should reach out to the last person. She also directed all officials to ensure that all government welfare schemes are implemented in a fair & transparent manner so that maximum people could be benefited from them.

Ludhiana, June 18, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today directed all government departments to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes should reach out to the last person. She also directed all officials to ensure that all government welfare schemes are implemented in a fair & transparent manner so that maximum people could be benefited from them.

For better review of ongoing development projects and effective coordination between departments, District Administration has also developed a new dashboard, wherein real time status of the projects would reflect. This has been done for effective coordination amongst departments as well as better review of projects.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today held a review meeting in this regard at Bachat Bhawan, here. She also directed all government departments to update current status of development projects within a week.

While chairing a meeting in this regard, DC Sakshi Sawhney told all department heads to take this new initiative very seriously. She stressed that benefits of all government social welfare schemes should go to the last person. She directed that there should be 100% utilisation of all government welfare schemes and no eligible beneficiary is left behind.

She also said that as the monsoon season is approaching, the District Administration has planned a massive plantation drive. She told the department heads that around 11 lakh tree saplings are to be planted in different parts of district next month.

She said that with the help of Punjab Remote Sensing Centre, District Administration has got a heat map prepared wherein areas with high surface temperature have been identified. She said that this time, the plantation drive would focus on such areas.

The DC directed the officials to identity land & prepare pits so that plantation drive could be carried out on the arrival of monsoon season.
