Today Amrit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur reviewed the progress of Aadhaar enrolments with the representatives of Sewa Kendras, DEO, DPO and other non-state enrolment agencies active in the district.
Ferozepur, August 29, 2022: Today Amrit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur reviewed the progress of Aadhaar enrolments with the representatives of Sewa Kendras, DEO, DPO and other non-state enrolment agencies active in the district. It was observed that the Aadhaar penetration in the District has already crossed 1312299 mark as per the projected population of 2022; however, age-group-wise Aadhaar coverage analysis shows that only 35114 of children under the age-group 0-5 years have been issued Aadhaar. Thus a targeted approach is required to be followed to ensure universal coverage in this age segment.
In order to ensure 100% Aadhaar enrolment and to follow an organic approach for targeted enrolment of children, Deputy Commissioner has nominated Sh. Arvind Parkash DRO, Sh. Gurpreet Singh Ragistrar DFSC, Chamkaur Singh DEO(SE), Rajeev Kumar DEO (SE), Ratandeep Sandhu DPO, Daljinder Singh District Coordinator Sewa Kendra as Nodal Officers for the same.
Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the officials of the School Education and Women and Child Development departments to ensure 100% utilisation of the available resources. It was directed to plan the route plans for the movement of the enrolment kits well in advance and share those with the enrolment agencies. Also to ensure the proper coordination for the mobilisation of children at the camp locations Sewa Kendra officials were directed to ensure efficient crowd management for the ease of the public. The excess crowd shall be either given an appointment for the revisit or shall be redirected to the alternate facility available nearby.
The District Administration while highlighting the importance of Aadhaar in bringing transparency and accountability in public service deliveries like driving licenses, passports etc, admissions, vaccinations, locating the whereabouts of missing children etc. exhorted the general public to ensure their children are enrolled for Aadhaar. It was also expressed that more than 500 cases of missing children across the country were solved using Aadhaar.
The children are mandatorily required to update their biometrics in Aadhaar on attaining ages of 5 and 15 years. It may be noted that new enrolments of Aadhaar and mandatory biometric updates of children at the age milestones of 5 and 15 years are free of cost.
Deputy Commissioner appealed to the public to extend their support to the Government Agencies in achieving universal coverage of Aadhaar in the state. Currently, the Aadhaar enrolment facility is available at Sewa Kendras, Schools and Anganwaris on a rotational basis, post offices and banks.
