DC helps NCLP School's girl to learn singing in Ishmeet Singh Music Institute
Inaugurates Rakhi Fair by NCLP students at DAC
Ludhiana, August 18, 2021: Impressed by a song sung by 7-year-old Raashi, a student of National Child Labour Project (NCLP) School, during Rakhi fair at District Administrative Complex (DAC), Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday got her admitted to the Ishmeet Singh Music Institute to polish her talent.
After inaugurating the fair organized by the students of NCLP School run by an NGO Bhagwan Mahavir Seva Sansthan at DAC, Deputy Commissioner along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Amit Kumar Panchal and Assistant Commissioner (UT) Dr Harjinder Singh Bedi, immediately phoned Ishmeet Academy's management after listening to the Punjabi song sung by Raashi.
Sharma asked them to offer the best coaching to Raashi as she has a special talent for singing which needs to be developed. He assured fulsome support to the girl and said that he would also soon visit the school.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the stalls during the Rakhi fair and lauded the contribution of NCLP students in making decorated Rakhis.
He said that these schools being under the scheme aims at rehabilitation of child labour. He said that the scheme seeks to adopt a progressive approach with a focus on the rehabilitation of children working in hazardous occupations and processes in the first instance.
He said that children from hazardous occupations are withdrawn from these occupations and then put into special schools to enable and mainstream them into the formal schooling system.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to the welfare of the students and said that it would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the best education and skill training for them.
