District Election Officer DC Hemraj Bairwa has instructed booth level officers to deliver voter slips to all registered voters, ensuring that everyone can exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections.
Dharamshala, May 23, 2024: District Election Officer DC Hemraj Bairwa has instructed booth level officers to deliver voter slips to all registered voters, ensuring that everyone can exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections.
To increase voter turnout in Kangra district, Bairwa emphasized the importance of focusing on polling booths with less than sixty percent turnout in previous Lok Sabha elections. Efforts are being made to understand the reasons for non-voting and to motivate citizens to participate in the electoral process.
Bairwa highlighted that many of the low-turnout polling booths will be transformed into model polling booths, aiming to inspire and encourage voter participation. He also mentioned that home voting has been initiated for disabled and elderly voters to further increase accessibility and convenience. Necessary facilities will be provided at polling stations to accommodate these voters, ensuring a smooth voting experience.
A total of 1,910 polling stations have been established in the Kangra-Chamba parliamentary constituency, all equipped with the necessary amenities as per the Election Commission's guidelines to facilitate hassle-free voting. Bairwa's initiatives underscore the district's commitment to achieving higher voter engagement and participation in the electoral process.
