Ludhiana, Jan 24, 2025: In a significant initiative to promote women's empowerment through employment, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal on Friday inaugurated a Special Mega Job Fair exclusively for girls at Khalsa College for Women. 

Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner (UT) Kritika Goyal, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of financial independence for women's empowerment, stating that job fairs serve as crucial stepping stones toward achieving this goal. 
Jorwal urged the girls to become active contributors to the socio-economic development of Punjab, encouraging them to strive for making the state a leader in the country through their hard work and dedication. He acknowledged that women have excelled in various fields and proved their capabilities when given opportunities. Additionally, he mentioned that women can attain success in their lives with support from their families. He further noted that women not only advance their careers but also significantly contribute to the nation’s progress.

Jorwal highlighted the essential role of women as the foundation of society and called on everyone to help empower them. He reiterated that women possess immense potential and can achieve remarkable heights when guided correctly. He called on industrialists and companies to collaborate with the administration to accelerate the development of Punjab, highlighting that employers can play a key role in fostering employment growth.

The job fair attracted over 2,100 women aged 18 to 35, with 1,870 positions offered by participating companies. A total of 43 companies took part, including SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Tech Auto Pvt Ltd, Shiv Softs, IFM Fincoach, Aditya Birla, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Kotak Mahindra, Sapphire, Damsum India Pvt. Ltd, Airtel, Fleet Safety Infotech, Spark International, Innov Source, Whizrobo Private Limited, V5 Global Solution, Saachi Processor, DMart, Quess, Addhaan Solution, Genius, Sewa Kendra, Talent Acquisition, Vedanta Capital Bancorp Pvt Ltd, Lavya Associates HR Services, AKC Vidhata KIA, PVR Cinema, Amazon/Flipkart, Coca-Cola, Hi Tech International, Job Rabbits, Ansh Infotech, among others. 

Eligibility for the job fair includes girls who have completed Classes 10 and 12, ITI, diploma, graduation, or post-graduation.
