DC inaugurates Visually Impaired cricket tournament at PAU
Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal inaugurated a Visually Impaired Cricket Tournament at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Friday.
Ludhiana, November 29, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal inaugurated a Visually Impaired Cricket Tournament at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Friday.
In his address, Jorwal emphasized that the district administration is dedicated to the welfare of visually impaired and specially-abled individuals, stating that they are an integral part of our society. He assured that the administration is available to support them, and he encouraged the public to adopt a sensitive approach towards these individuals.
The Deputy Commissioner also praised the efforts of Ek Jot Specially-Abled Bachon ka School and the Punjab Netarhin Yuvak Association for organizing this three-day cricket league. He promised the organizers the best possible support from the administration.
Many teams from Chandigarh, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh are participating in the tournament, with the final match scheduled for December 2. The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 31000, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 21000.
