DC inspects arrangements for done at training centers to facilitate polling staff for postal ballots
Move aimed at facilitating polling staff to exercise their right of franchise
Nawanshahr, February 11,2022: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal on Friday said that polling staff have been issued postal ballot papers for enabling them to exercise their right to franchise.
Overseeing the arrangements at various places in the district, Deputy Commissioner said that casting of vote is a right of every individual due to which as many as 4200 polling employees have also been allowed to cast the vote in the district before discharging their election duty.
He said that the employees have been assigned the poll duty, have been issued postal ballots for casting their votes at class room training/rehearsal centers where they have been facilitated with voting compartments.
Deputy Commissioner said that the SDMs cum Returning Officers have been asked to make ensure that bo body left behind to exercise his/her franchise before discharging his/her election duty.
Sarangal further said that most of those who had opted to fill form 12, following which the postal ballots have been sent to them, have uswd their voting right today, during the second polling personnel training at Banga, Nawanshahar and Balachaur.
As many as 4200 from centre and state governments, banks and public sector undertaking have been assigned several duties during the polls as counting, polling, and even supporting staff besides utilizing their services for micro-observers, sector officers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
To facilitate these employees, voting compartments were set up at training centers, today, added Sarangal.
He said if someone could not use his/her voting right today, he/she can cast his/her vote during last training.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh, SDMs Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Deepak Rohilla, Assistant Commissioner Deepankar Garg and others were present.
