Ludhiana, May 16, 2018: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pradeep Kumar Agrawal on Wednesday flagged off dengue awareness rally in district administrative complex.
Agrawal said that health department has decided to observe Friday as Dry Day when the checking of desert coolers will be done in all government offices, educational institutions, banks, houses and other places.
He said that Aedes aegypti mosquitoes breed in clear water and flower pots, coolers, tyres, fridge trays and bird feeders and other utensils are common places where breeding is usually found.
DC stated several teams have been formed and covering all the wards of the Municipal Corporation and they will spray anti-larva drugs where they will find breeding of mosquitoes. He also issued clear directions to the officials for issuing challans of the violators.
Civil Surgeon Parvinder Pal Singh motivated the residents to not let water accumulate in their premises, adjoining areas and to clear out stagnant water for preventing mosquito breeding.
