DC Ludhiana reviews progress of road projects related to NHAI and others
Directs to provide maximum benefit to residents before August 15
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma today reviewed the progress of all road projects related to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and others by holding a meeting with NHAI representatives and officials of other departments. This meeting was attended by ADC (Jagraon) Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, SDM (West) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi, SDM (East) Mr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, besides several others.
During the meeting, progress of NH 44, NH05 Elevated Road, Chandigarh Road, Ladhowal Byepass, Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, Ludhiana-Talwandi Road and Ludhiana Ring Road projects was reviewed. The Deputy Commissioner asked the NHAI officials to ensure that keeping in mind the traffic, maximum work related to their projects within Ludhiana city should be completed by August 15, 2020.
He also asked the representatives to submit progress report of all projects by June 26, so that they can be reviewed once again on June 27. He directed SDMs Mr Malhi and Mr Dhillon to personally visit the ongoing projects in their respective areas and submit report in this regard. Similarly, the contractors have been asked to construct service roads or repair them on priority basis.
During the meeting, issues related to underpass on Tajpur Road, constructing ROB near Sherper Chowk, entry and exit points of NH 44, changing of place of up ramp on elevated road, Ladhowal Byepass, Ring Road etc were also discussed. He also directed the officials to speed up the work related to construction of elevated road starting from Ferozepur Road till Samrala Chowk.
