DC reviews arrangements for Independence Day Function

Ludhiana, July 26, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Friday reviewed the arrangements for the district-level Independence Day celebrations at PAU grounds . 

During the review, the Deputy Commissioner discussed the hoisting of the tricolour, security, traffic, parking arrangements, cultural programs, uninterrupted power supply, proper sanitation, medical facilities, and other related matters with heads of various departments at the venue. She also assigned duties to senior officers who will supervise the preparations closely to ensure that the national event is celebrated with enthusiasm and in a befitting manner.

Sawhney mentioned that a committee will be responsible for deciding the cultural items to be performed by students from various schools and colleges in the district. She also directed the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana to ensure proper cleanliness around the venue, sprinkle water on roads leading to the stadium, and provide temporary urinals and mobile toilets for participants.

Additionally, she asked the Commissionerate Police to make necessary arrangements to maintain law and order during the event.
