DC reviews different projects to clean Budha Dariya

Ludhiana, July 17, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney reviewed ongoing projects to clean Budha Dariya on Wednesday. 

During the meeting, DC Sawhney directed the drainage department officials to remove illegal encroachments after completing demarcation of the dariya. 

MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, DRO Gurjinder Singh, officials of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), drainage department among others were present in the meeting.

DC Sawhney directed the authorities to expedite the projects to clean Budha Dariya and mentioned that the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government is committed to clean Budha Dariya and no stone should be left unturned. She also directed that no new dairy shall be allowed to operate along side the dariya without first getting the NOC (No Objection Certificate) from PPCB and XEN drainage. She also asked the joint teams who were tasked with examining the issue of dairy units disposal to expedite their action.
