DC reviews implementation of PM-Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme
Avail benefit of scheme to set up enterprises- Surabhi Malik
Ludhiana, July 20, 2023: Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik on Thursday held a meeting of the District Level Committee to review the implementation of the Prime Minister- Micro Food Processing Enterprises (FME) Scheme in the district.
Malik said that under the scheme, a food processing unit up to Rs one crore can be set up which employs 10 workers. She said that micro food processing units would be provided credit-linked capital subsidy @35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs 10 lakh per unit. She said that beneficiary contribution should be a minimum of 10% of the project cost with the balance being a loan from the bank. Apart from establishing new units, the existing units can also expand their business by getting the benefit of the scheme. She said that those units which had availed term loans from banks could also take subsidies by applying under the scheme. She appealed that those who desire to avail the benefit of the scheme should contact the District Industries Centre for getting assistance in the application submission process and others.
District Industries Centre General Manager Rakesh Kumar Kansal said that interested persons had to apply for the loan through portal of food processing ministry www.pmfme.mofpi.gov.in.
