DC reviews preparations for Tapovan Vidhan Sabha Winter Session

Dharamshala, November 30, 2024: Kangra District Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, along with officials from various departments, reviewed the preparations on Saturday for the upcoming winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, scheduled to be held at the Tapovan premises in Dharamshala from December 18 to 21.
During the review, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials from the Jal Shakti and Vidyut Departments to ensure seamless drinking water supply and uninterrupted electricity services during the session. He emphasized the need to address all maintenance requirements in advance to avoid any inconvenience. Parking arrangements were also assessed, with a focus on facilities at key locations such as Zorawar Stadium and the Vidhan Sabha premises.
To enhance security measures, the DC stated that a detailed plan is being prepared by the Police Department. He added that passes would be issued to ensure smooth movement for local residents of the area ,during the session. Special instructions were also given to the Health Department to make necessary arrangements at the Vidhan Sabha premises, Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, and Tanda Medical College.
Additionally, the Fire Department has been directed to deploy fire engines at Tapovan as a precautionary measure. The Public Works Department was tasked with completing any pending repair and maintenance work at the assembly premises.
Senior officials, including the SDM Dharamshala, the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, and representatives from the Public Works, Jal Shakti, Electricity, and Fire Departments, accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
The winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, an annual event, is expected to bring together legislators and officials from across the state to deliberate on key issues and policies.
