DC reviews various issues related to pending UDID cards in Disability Cases
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today reviewed the status of pending UDID cards in disability cases. DC directed officers to frame a mechanism wherein people can apply easily & a dedicated helpline to help them with application process.
Ludhiana, June 20, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today reviewed the status of pending UDID cards in disability cases. DC directed officers to frame a mechanism wherein people can apply easily & a dedicated helpline to help them with application process.
This meeting was attended by ADCs Anmol Singh Dhaliwal and Rupinder Pal Singh, Additional Commissioner MC Paramdeep Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Jasvir Singh Aulakh, Dr Neelam Sodhi besides others.
During the meeting, it was discussed that for getting a Disability Certificate, the residents sometimes could not get proper guidance. Besides some tests are only done in either private hospitals on high rates or at Government Rajindra Hospital Patiala.
The DC assured that she would take up this issue with the private hospitals on priority basis, along with urged the NGOs and other social organisations to assist the district administration financially so that such persons could be helped and tests could be held free of cost.
She also directed the officials to have a dedicated 24x7 helpline number in case any person wants to have any information regarding Disability Certificate.
