DC Sarangal appeals residents to pour in generously to Flag Day Fund
Salutes soldiers for their incomparable valour on the Armed Forces Flag Day
Nawanshahr, December 7, 2021: Armed Forces Flag Day Fund Contribution was started in SBS Nagar, today, by presenting the first token flag to the Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal in his office by employees of the District Defence Services Welfare Office.
While contributing for the fund, DC Vishesh Sarangal appealed to the residents of the district to pour in whole heartedly for the welfare cause as all the monetary collections would be used for the welfare of families of Defence Personnel. He said that the day was a unique opportunity to express our gratitude towards the Armed Forces personnel, who resolutely defended the borders of our nation and rendered valuable service in the wake of natural calamities and war like situations. He added that as last year was under the effect of the pandemic Covid so we should make handsome contributions this time to fill the gap of previous year.
Deputy Commissioner while remembering the martyrs, serving and veteran soldiers for their supreme valour and determination in protecting the honour of Indian Soil on the Armed Forces Flag Day, said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district has a legacy of 26 army martyrs who sacrificed their lives for manning the borders from the enemies during the various wars.
He said that every soldier has a commitment to sacrifice his life for the sake of the nation and serving the country by donning a uniform is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for every individual. He said that soldiers perform their duties in extremely harsh conditions to safeguard our boundaries and we all enjoy our sleep knowing well that the soldiers are protecting Mother India.
The Deputy Commissioner also released a copy of Special News Bulletin ‘Ranjodhe’ on the occasion which has detailed information regarding welfare schemes of defense personnel.
