DC Sawhney reviews project to rejuvenate 'Budha Dariya'; direct officials to expedite works

Ludhiana, July 1, 2024: Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum-Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney conducted a meeting with the senior officials of the civic body to review the ongoing project to rejuvenate 'Budha Dariya' on Monday.

Having been given the additional charge of MC Commissioner by the government, Sawhney conducted the meeting at MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar.and directed the civic body officials to expedite the pending/proposed works.

MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Superintending Engineers (SE) Parveen Singla, Sanjay Kanwar, Executive Engineers Ranbir Singh, Ekjot Singh, Parshotam Singh among others were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, DC Sawhney also directed the officials to take up extensive plantation drives during the monsoon season and if required, NGOs/residents should also be involved in the same. The authorities have been directed to focus on survival of the plants too, after taking up the plantation drives.

Sawhney also directed the officials to remain on toes and take all the necessary steps to avoid water logging in the city during the monsoon season. She also discussed different legal matters and directed the officials to follow them up on a regular basis.

She also reiterated her zero tolerance towards corruption and warned of strict action if any official indulges into it.
