DC-SP Kangra visit Boh Landslide area to take stock of relief work
Four people were rescued; Eighty people were taken to a safe place in Triund: DC
Dharamsala: Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Dr Nipun Jindal along with SP Kangra SP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan visited the remote hill area of Boh, (50 kms from Dharamsala) where few houses came under the debris of Landslide at Rolehad in Boh on Monday to take stock of the relief work. After taking stock of the damage and relief work DC said that few houses were damaged due to the landslide, in which four people have been rescued while the teams of Home Guards, Police and NDFR and others are involved in the search for the missing people.
Dr Nipun said, “In high altitude tracking area of Triund near Dharamsala, around eighty people have been rescued and shifted to a safe place. The traffic on the Pathankot - Mandi national highway which was disrupted due to landslides near 32 miles due to heavy rains has been restored with immediate effect. One person and two animals have been washed away due to flood in Manjhi Khad in Samirpur Chakban of Kangra sub-division, the rescue work is still on.”
He added that the NDFR team is working on the spot to rescue a person who was drowned in a Khad in Tatwani, Shahpur.
He said that landslides have occurred at many places in Bhagsunag of Dharamsala sub-division, due to rain, , for this necessary instructions have been given to the Public Works Department for repair works.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Nipun Jindal said that the district administration is ensuring the monitoring of rain damage and relief works across the district through the control room and necessary directions have also been given to the officers of various departments so that people could not be inconvenienced at any level.
