Ludhiana, January 9, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal today chaired a meeting to check the arrangements for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan event, scheduled to take place at Punjab Agricultural University's open air theatre on January 11.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the venue, Deputy Commissioner stated that the event will be presided over by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, and Punjab Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Baljit Kaur. He ordered constitution of various committees and fixed the duties of officers from several departments for the smooth conduct of the event. He asked them to discharge their duties with utmost dedication and sincerity and ensure fool proof arrangements by meticulously planning and execution. He emphasized the need for comprehensive arrangements regarding security, medical services, traffic management, cleanliness, parking, power supply, and fire safety protocols.

Jorwal stated that nodal officers have been assigned for traffic diversion, vehicle parking, security, medical assistance, and other required facilities on that day. He instructed officials to ensure that all dignitaries, students, and the public experience no inconveniences during the event. Additionally, he announced that a walkathon will follow the event, in which the chief guests will participate to disseminate the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. 

Jorwal further mentioned that elaborate arrangements would be made for this event and added that district administration has chalked out a fool proof strategy for event.
