Ludhiana, December 3, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal on Tuesday has urged parents to update their children's Aadhar cards.
During a review of the Aadhar enrollment and updating status at the district administrative complex, Jorwal emphasized that the Aadhar card is a crucial document provided by the government for accessing various government schemes. Jorwal stressed the importance of enrolling children for Aadhar and updating their biometric information (fingerprints and iris scans) when they reach the ages of 5 and 15 years.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the necessity for citizens whose mobile numbers are not linked to their Aadhar cards to ensure these are updated. Updating biometric features is essential to avoid any complications when needed. He instructed officials to complete the Aadhar updation process within the given timeframe and run an awareness campaign to encourage residents to update their Aadhar data. Additionally, he also directed the officials of education, health, and program department to organize camps in schools, hospitals (specifically in birth facilities and paediatrics), and Anganwadi centers for the enrollment of children.
According to the guidelines issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), he mentioned that all Aadhar holders must update their details, including mobile numbers, current proof of identity, and address. He noted that citizens can either visit the nearest Sewa Kendras and Aadhar enrollment centers or, if their mobile number is registered with their Aadhar, they can avail this service online by logging in at https://myAadhar.uidai.gov.in/.
