DCM Presidency School, Elementary Campus organised Community Helpers Week
Ludhiana, October 22, 2021: D.C.M.Presidency School, Elementary Campus organised Community Helpers Week for the students of Nursery and Prep-I.
An activity for the children by the children where they came dressed as Community Helpers belonging to different professions. They enacted their roles with realistic props along with appropriate words. The mentors very well guided the children that many community helpers have identifiable work attire or clothes and tools making it easy to know their role in the community and it is helpful to approach them for help.
A policeman or fire fighter’s uniform and a doctor’s coat is an important clue of what they do. Some community helpers also have identifiable means of transport e.g. the police car, the fire truck, the mail van, the ambulance etc.
The objective was achieved when the kids came dressed as a nurse, sweeper, policeman, doctor, carpenter, fire fighter, mason, soldier, vegetable vendor, farmer and teacher. They presented their views with confidence and told that they were proud to be dressed as community helpers and loved their job.
This topic is important for plenty of reasons such as safety, thoughtfulness and understanding the way the world works. It instills in them respect for all professions and to value them better as each profession makes a difference in our daily lives in many ways.
