Ludhiana, March 29, 2019: With an endeavour to promote Astronomy as a career among children,STEM & space had conducted a nationwide Astronomy Olympiad competition throughout India (National Astronomy Challenge), with students from all over India participating in it. Kunjal Aggarwal studying in Class IX of DCM Presidency School was one of the 10 proud winners of this challenge.
STEM & Space, an Indian science education company, recently held the National Astronomy Challenge felicitation in Dubai on 25th March, where Astronomy challenge winners were awarded by Mr.Hasan Hariri, CEO of Dubai Astronomical Society.
Kunjal Aggarwal,along with mentor Ms.Manpreet Kaur were felicitated at the Award Ceremony.
Mr. Hasan Hariri,CEO of Dubai Astronomical Society shared his passion about Astronomy with the students and encouraged them to visit the Al Thuraya observatory where he is director. The students got the complete experience of an observatory there. Other special guests at the event included Mr. Mikolaj Zielinski, anAstronaut going to Mars Human Mission 2020. He interacted with the students at length about his experiences. Mr. Thomas Addy, representing Boeing, talked about the aerospace industry. Mr. Prabhakaran, Educator at Meliha Science Center shared his techniques about
Astrophotography. Dr. Mila Mitra, co founder and Chief Scientific Officer and Mr. Chandra Pandey, head of client relationship, both at STEM & space, presided over the event.
The students also had the privilege to meet Mr. Pankaj Bodhke, education Consul at Indian consulate, Dubai who congratulated all of them on their achievement. Overall, the students had a remarkable experience in Dubai, with the opportunity to interact with eminent science personalities in Dubai and also enjoyed the vibrant sightseeing opportunities.
Principal Ms.Rajni Kalra congratulated Kunjal on her outstanding achievement and also encouraged her to keep the spirits high and excel in all spheres of life.
