DCM YES, under the aegis of DCM Group of Schools hosted the Grand Finale of the second edition of Ideate Fest, to lead our future generations onto the path of entrepreneurship.
Ludhiana, January 17, 2023: DCM YES, under the aegis of DCM Group of Schools hosted the Grand Finale of the second edition of Ideate Fest, to lead our future generations onto the path of entrepreneurship. More than 50 teams from various schools pitched their startup ideas and business plans. DCM Young Entrepreneurs School, being the first school of entrepreneurship in the country conducted this flagship event to mark the National Startup Day. All the ideas pitched by different students were highly appreciated by the panel of judges composed of eminent academics and industry leaders that include Prof. J.K. Sharma, Director IEDC - Desh Bhagat University, Prof. Sreekumar Pillai, Thapar School of Management, Dr Karminder Ghuman, Head Venuture Lab- Thapar University, Arvind Narayanan, Co-founder EmPower, Shilpa Miglani, Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology and Kanika Sharma, EnPower. The judges highlighted the quality of ideas presented by the young students and strongly recommended to take those concepts further and to apply for IPR protection. This fest has created a roadmap as to how young learners' technical ideas can be taken forward and translated into innovative products. Students pitched featured business plans focused on a variety of goods and services. Several of the ideas were presented along with functional prototypes which has raised the level of this competition to an even higher level.
The winners of the IdeateFest 2.0 Sat Paul Mittal School and DCM Presidency School in Senior and Junior categories respectively received Rs. 30,000 as startup fund. The first and second runners up teams in both senior and junior categories from Dass and Brown World School and DCM Presidency School received Rs. 20,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively. These top 6 teams will receive continuous expert mentoring and incubation facilities at DCM YES’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell.
The CEO, DCM Group of Schools, Dr Anirudh Gupta congratulated the winners and said that the fest served a highly impactful experience for the budding Entrepreneurs. While addressing the students in the award declaration ceremony, Dr Gopan Gopalakrishnan, Deputy CEO of DCM Group of Schools said that the legacy education group will foster the entrepreneurial skills of young students through several such experiential learning platforms in future. Ms. Sangeeta Pant, Dean of Chitkara University attended the function as a guest of honor and shared her excitement in interacting with the young entrepreneurs who are the future nation builders.
IdeateFest, a flagship initiative of DCM Group of Schools, was originally conceived and executed in the year 2020 and since then, the platform served a highly impactful experience for the young Entrepreneurs. The event was first of its kind with Startup Punjab, the nodal agency of the Punjab Government for boosting entrepreneurship in the region, onboard as a strategic partner.
