DCSA Alumni Meet - 2024

Chandigarh, December 21, 2024: The Department of Computer Science and Applications (DCSA), Panjab University Chandigarh, hosted the DCSA Alumni Meet - 2024. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over alumni, both online and in person, who actively engaged with faculty, staff, and students. It was inspiring to learn that DCSA alumni are spread across the globe, excelling in various fields and contributing to growth, learning, and innovation. 

Many alumni hold prestigious positions such as Directors, Associate Directors, Vice Presidents, Assistant Presidents, Partners, Consultants, Developers, Administrators, Engineers, Advisors and  Faculty Members, and even Vice Chancellor.

The event was attended by a diverse group, including faculty, staff, research scholars, alumni, and students of DCSA. Dr. Anuj Sharma, Chairperson of DCSA, warmly welcomed the alumni. The keynote address for the meet was delivered by Prof. Anu Gupta, Professor at DCSA, Director of the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Computer Centre, and Coordinator of the Alumni Meet shared purpose of alumni meet .The keynote speaker of alumni meet was Dr. Mandeep Walia, Sr. Director Infosys, Chandigarh The vote of thanks was presented by Supreet Thapar, Assistant Professor at DCSA and Co-coordinator of the event.

The event was attended by alumni from various batches, students, faculty members and staff members of DCSA. The MCA first-year students showcased dance, beat boxing and  poetry  performances, followed by the “Embracing the Nostalgia with Silver Jubilee (Batch 1999)” and interaction with Doctoral Alumni, where alumni shared their experiences in the department and offered valuable suggestions for its improvement. 

A short video highlighting the department's memories and current progress was shown in “A Walk Down the Memory Lane”, evoking a sense of nostalgia among the attendees. The alumni also enjoyed engaging in fun games, which added to the lively atmosphere. The entire alumni meet was an enriching, interactive experience, blending the memories and insights of both alumni and faculty.
