Debate on `Indian Democracy is overshadowed by the emergence of fascist tendencies’
Jalandhar, September 11, 2022: Lyallpur Khalas College Jalandhar has always been committed to the all-round development of students. In order to develop self-confidence among the students through academic as well as non-curricular activities, the Post Graduate Political Science Department of the college organised an inter-departmental debate competition on the topic 'Indian Democracy is Overshadowed by the Emergence of Fascist Tendencies' in which the students of different departments participated enthusiastically.
Prof. Jasreen Kaur Dean Academic Affairs attended the event as the chief guest. They were welcomed by Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Head Department of Political Science. She congratulated the students for participating in these competitions and gave prizes to the winners. She said that such programs help to develop the art of speech among the students and also increase the knowledge of the subject.
Dr. Surinder Pal Mand and Prof. Satpal Singh played the role of judge during the program. The winning students were awarded with certificates. In these competitions, 1st place Ekta BAJMC Semester-III, 2nd place, Shaunj Sharma B.Sc. Biotech and Ishani B.Com. Semester-III, Balpreet, B.Com. Semester-III and Livpreet Kaur, MA Political Science jointly bagged the 3rd place.
After giving the judgment, the judges shared the points regarding good debate with the students. At the end of the event, everyone was thanked by Dr. Ajit Pal Singh. During the program, the stage management was done by Neha BA-Sem-III.
Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Head, Department of Political Science, Prof. Anu Moom and Prof. Ajit Pal Singh were also present on this occasion.
