Declamation Contest at PU
Contestants orated enthusiastically on diverse topics
Chandigarh: Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh hosted the A.C. Bali Memorial Declamation Contest and Krishnan Kishore Grover Goodwill Declamation Contest, here today.
The contestants orated enthusiastically on diverse topics like “Shopping in the Age of Free-Home Shopping”, “The Farmer-Sorrow Sower”, “Is Cycling the Solution to Cricket and Capitalism”, and “Joys of Plagiarism”.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various colleges and institutions like UIPS, MCM DAV College for Women Sector 36 Chandigarh, SGGS College Sector 26 Chandigarh, CCET Sector 26 Chandigarh, and DAV College, Dasuya Hoshiarpur. The jury for the event included Prof. Pratibha Nagpal, Dept. of English and Cultural Studies, Prof. Harpreet Pruthi, Dept. of English and Cultural Studies, and Prof. Shashi Chaudhary, Human Genome Dept.
The winners for A.C.Bali Memorial were Aayush Arora from UILS, Tanya Talwar from GCG 11 and Aayushi Pant from GCCBA-50, whereas Tanya Ahuja from PU-ISSER, Lavnima Sharma from MCM and Vincy Trehan from CGC-11, Ludhiana were the winners for Krishnan Kishore Grover Goodwill Declamation contests.
The event was organized under the stewardship of Prof. Deepti Gupta, Chairperson, Department of English and Cultural Studies and it concluded with a sumptuous lunch where the participants mingled with one another and bid adieu to each other, promising to meet again next year.
