Chandigarh, August 7, 2019: PU VC expresses condolences: Prof.Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh expressed deep shock over the demise of Sushma Swaraj, Former External Affairs Minister. He expressed her as an epitome of dignity and courage. She was an outstanding parliamentarian, prolific orator and PU Alumnus. It is a great loss for the nation and the University, where she studied L.L.B from Department of Laws, PU during 1971-74.

PU Condoles demise of Sushma Swaraj: The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh held a condolence meeting to pay homage to Sushma Swaraj, Former External Affairs Minister and Alumnus of department of Laws, here today. The Chairperson, Prof.Meenu Paul read a condolence message which the department will send to the family members of late Sushma Swaraj. Anu Chatrath, Dean Law Faculty, other faculty members, Researchers, staff and Senior Advocates Mac Sarin, N.K. Nanda and others were also present.
Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader and former Punjab minister Manoranjan Kalia has expressed deep shock and grief over sudden demise of Sushma Swaraj. In a statement issued in Jalandhar today, he recalled services rendered by her to the party and the Nation as well while remaining in different capacities. He termed the deceased leader as a great orator, diplomat and an exceptional parliamentarian. He added sudden demise of Sushma Swaraj is irreparable loss to BJP. KMV pays a glowing tribute
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidalaya, Jalandhar paid a tribute to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Sharing fond memories of her visit to KMV, Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Sushma Swaraj visited KMV during the Prize Distribution Ceremony of the college in the year 1998. She maintained that Sushma Swaraj was a very popular, humble, charismatic, committed and dedicated leader who had endeared herself to the masses by her earthly appeal & connect. Being a woman she earnestly felt the need to assuage the sufferings of humanity and acted accordingly. An excellent orator that she was, she could touch the hearts of all by her sincere words. She had brought diplomacy to the people and readily extended a helping hand to Indians facing various problems related to immigration. She indeed represented India at UN Meets to great impact. The sudden demise of such a noted and acclaimed woman leader is indeed an irreparable loss for the nation. At KMV, Mrs Sushma had bestowed benedictions on the students and had averred that she was tremendously impressed by KMV-the patriotic and historical institution of India. She averred that Jalandhar is known because of KMV to many national leaders. When she had visited KMV she had interacted with the College President Chander Mohan and had complimented him and KMV Management, Principal and faculty for treasuring the rich historical legacy. She also motivated the students to continue to make endeavors for the progress of this heritage institution. Elaborating on the life of a woman, she explained that a woman has to be more responsible, more sensitive towards the society as she is the strongest component of the family & ultimately the society. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal averred that KMV pays a very sad and reverential tribute to the national leader who possessed exemplary qualities of head and heart.
