Rohtak, May 8, 2024: Congress candidate from Rohtak Lok Sabha Deepender Hooda said that the state BJP government, which has already lost the trust of the public, has now also lost the trust of its supporting MLAs. He demanded imposition of President's rule in the state, and said the BJP government has lost its moral right to remain in government and should dissolve the assembly and call for fresh elections.
“BJP leaders, party officials and workers are themselves fed up with this government. This is the reason why many people are continuously leaving BJP and joining Congress. Yesterday, three independent MLAs withdrew support from the present government of the state and extended their support to Congress,” he said.
“It is clear from this withdrawal of support that the BJP government of the state is now in minority, and has lost the constitutional right to remain in power. If the ruling BJP leaders have even an iota of morality left, they should immediately dissolve the assembly and contest the elections,” he said.
Deepender today visited villages Baldhan Khurd, Baldhan Kalan, Khushpura, Toomna, Zahidpur, Bhurthala, Shyamnagar, Natheda, Shahadatnagar, Surehali, Nehrugarh (Gamdi), Jhadoda, Shri Krishna Nagar (Lula Ahir), Dadoli, Fatepuri, Motla Kalan, Kahadi, Rampuri, Didoli, Masit, Aulat, Budauli, Mundi, Bas, Batori in the Kosli Vidhan Sabha. While campaigning, he addressed the people and gave the report card of his work, and appealed to vote in favor of Congress.
He said that today every section is angry with this government as Haryana has been derailed from the track of development under BJP rule. “Leave aside getting work done in the area, the sitting BJP MP has not even come for a ‘thank you’ visit after taking votes in 5 years,” he said.
Deepender said during the Congress government, he tried his best to make the area a hub of education. “This region (Kosli) was made a hub of education by starting Model Schools, Kisan Model Schools and Aarohi Model Schools. Apart from this, construction of hundreds of new schools, ITI, engineering colleges, B.Ed, JBT colleges and upgrading of old schools was done,” he reminded voters.
“The present government, however, tried to destroy the entire education system by implementing policies like 'Chirag Yojana' and handing it over to private hands. Due to this, it becomes difficult for children of poor families to pay fees and they are forced to leave their studies,” he added.
Deepender said that during his tenure, 19 educational institutions were opened in this area, including Indira Gandhi University in Mirpur, Regional Center of Bhagat Phool Singh Women's University in Krishna Nagar (Lula Ahir). “We will work to build a university. Apart from this, on the lines of IMT Manesar, industrial areas will be brought in Kosli area so that the youth can get employment,” he promised.
He further said this government lathi-charged and insulted every section of the society, including rural watchmen, MNREGA labourers, farmers, youth, women sportspersons and youth, for raising the demand of Ahir Regiment. “Under BJP rule, efforts are being made to snatch away the constitutional rights of the people. The rights of every section are being snatched through the backdoor. Now BJP leaders are raising slogans of ‘400 paar’ and saying that they will change the Constitution of the country,” he added.
Referring to the Nyay Guarantee in the Congress manifesto, Deepender he that when the Congress government is formed, Rs 1 lakh will be given per year to the elder mother and sister of every poor family under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
Enumerating his development works done in the area, he said the government established Agriculture College in Bawal, Rao Birendra Singh Government Engineering College in Zainabad during the Congress government, and 5 new government ITIs were built in Saranwas, Bersi Kalan, Kosli, Tankari, Kharkad, 2 new Government Polytechnic, 5 new government colleges and a central university were also established.
“Haryana's first Sainik School was established in Gothra Tappakhori and Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bhakli and 95 schools were upgraded in Kosli area alone, but the situation in the BJP government became such that to upgrade a school in Gothra Tappa Dahina, daughters were forced to go on hunger strike for 8 days to get their school upgraded. The current BJP government downgraded or closed schools,” he stated.
