Ludhiana, December 10, 2012: A city-based scientist has got Degree of “Doctor of Science” from Meerut University as his innovation work was recognised by the university.

As per the available information, the scientist has provided the substitute of the bleaching earth technology that is used in refining technology world-wide.

The substitute was prepared from the agriculture waste material and its patent was registered.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Tyagi (40), Principal Scientist with Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi from last 13 years, said it took 6 years to prepare the substitute of the bleaching earth technology. He said the degree is awarded after the PHD and one has to be innovative to get the degree in the agriculture field.

Chemical Engineer by profession, Sanjeev said he was greeted by his family and the seniors after receiving the degree. He said even the admission process for the doctorate was very tough and very few people apply for the degree. He said he had registered five patentsin his name and all were related to field of science and agriculture. He said the technology was only registered under the patents if the innovation is done through the international standards.

Further, Sanjeev said he managed his professional work and the innovation work simultaneously so that his innovation can be beneficial in the field of agriculture and scientific technology.

His wife Usha Tyagi, Managing Director of Aditya institute said she was elated that innovation done by her husband will be used by the all the people related to agricultural and scientific field.
