A delegation of Woman Entrepreneurs led by Mridula Jain Founder / Owner and Shingora Textiles Pvt Ltd with members of PPF, FICCIFLO and CICU recently held a crucial meeting with Police Commissioner Ludhiana, Kuldeep Singh Chahal, and ADCP Gurmeet Kaur at the CP Office to address the escalating incidents of rapes in the city and discuss vital aspects of women's safety and security in the industrial/focal point area.
Ludhiana, August 27, 2024: A delegation of Woman Entrepreneurs led by Mridula Jain Founder / Owner and Shingora Textiles Pvt Ltd with members of PPF, FICCIFLO and CICU recently held a crucial meeting with Police Commissioner Ludhiana, Kuldeep Singh Chahal, and ADCP Gurmeet Kaur at the CP Office to address the escalating incidents of rapes in the city and discuss vital aspects of women's safety and security in the industrial/focal point area.
The meeting highlighted the urgent need for collective efforts to combat these challenges and empower women to contribute to raising awareness across different strata of society for the protection and safety of girls in the region. The meeting was attended by Rajni Sethi, Aishni Sethi, Mridula Jain, Archana Sarup, Rachna Jain, Shelly Gupta, Sameera Bector and Anamika Ghai.
During the meeting, key initiatives were deliberated to enhance women's safety and security in the industrial/focal point area. The proposal to establish a 24/7 Women's Helpline emerged as a crucial step to provide women with a reliable platform to report incidents promptly and seek necessary assistance. Additionally, the discussion emphasized the importance of increasing the deployment of women police personnel for patrolling in the area to ensure a safer environment for women.
Furthermore, the organization of self-defense training programs for women workers, to be led by police personnel, was identified as a vital measure to equip women with essential skills for self-protection. The meeting also highlighted the significance of enhancing the visibility of women police officers in the industrial/focal point area to instill a sense of safety and trust within the community. The proposed expansion of CCTV coverage in the area aims to strengthen surveillance capabilities and act as a deterrent against criminal activities, aligning with the current scenario's pressing need for heightened security measures.
Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal's unwavering commitment to addressing these critical aspects, along with ADCP Gurmeet Kaur's assurance to conduct a seminar on women's safety, reflects a proactive approach to safeguarding women in the city.
