Delhi Technological University turns blue
DTU celebrates DC Day at annual fest ‘Engifest’
New Delhi: Delhi Technological Institute (DTU) recently concluded hosting ‘Engifest’ – its annual fest – of which Delhi Capitals was an integral part. Apart from being the Sports Team Partner for the event, the second day of the fest was also celebrated as DC Day. On DC Day, not just the students, but the campus was dressed in blue too, as Delhi Capitals banners, flags and balloons adorned the venue.
Fun activities like Bounce the Ball and Pin the Logo were organised at the DC stall for students attending the fest. A huge attraction was the unique Virtual Reality cricket game organised at the stall for participants to hit the longest six. Not just that, there was also a customised LIVE radio booth at the festival. All winners were handed official DC merchandise. An impromptu fan march took place as well on DC Day, with students and members of DC Toli (the team’s official Fan Army) dancing and chanting their way through the fest, to the beats of the dhol. DC Day at ‘Engifest’ recorded a massive footfall of 65,000 approximately, making it a smash hit.
Speaking of the association, Delhi Capitals CEO Dheeraj Malhotra said, "Our fanbase is crucial to us, and we want to capitalise on everything we achieved as a team last season. We want to keep connecting to the youth, make them part of our Fan Army and volunteer programmes, and ensure they feel like Delhi Capitals is their team.”
Last year, Delhi Capitals engaged with festivals at the Shriram College of Commerce (Crossroads) and IIT Delhi (Rendezvous), before making its presence felt at Engifest, Delhi’s biggest college fest at the moment, this year. Going forward, DC plans to create fan hubs across all premier colleges of the city in an effort to increase overall participation from the youth of Delhi.
