Demand of PTU to resume its ODL Programme accepted by MHRD

Chandigarh, August 21, 2014: Long pending demand of Punjab Technical University (PTU) to resume its Open Distance Learning (ODL) Programme has been accepted by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), New Delhi vide its letter no. D.O.F.No. UGC/DEB/PTU/PUN/2012 dated August 6, 2014. As a consequence of this, PTU will be able to provide Open Distance Learning Programme within its territorial jurisdiction through its own centres not through its franchises.
This has been made possible with the consistent efforts of Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister of Technical Education and Industrial Training Punjab. The Vice Chancellor of Punjab Technical University has been instructed to act upon it immediately, so that students of Punjab undergoing Open Distance Learning Programme may not suffer anymore.
