Demonstration on Nutritious Millet-Based Recipes for Tiny Tots and Parents at Chaitanya Laboratory School
A demonstration and sensitization session on nutritious millet-based recipes was conducted for the tiny tots of Chaitanya Laboratory School and their parents. The session, led by students of MSc Foods and Nutrition, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, focused on raising awareness about simple, easy-to-cook, yet highly nutritious recipes using millets.
Chandigarh, September 21, 2024: A demonstration and sensitization session on nutritious millet-based recipes was conducted for the tiny tots of Chaitanya Laboratory School and their parents. The session, led by students of MSc Foods and Nutrition, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, focused on raising awareness about simple, easy-to-cook, yet highly nutritious recipes using millets.
The interactive session aimed to educate parents and children on the health benefits of millets, promoting their inclusion in everyday meals.
Through practical demonstration of Barnyard kheer, Amaranth kheer, Ragi laddu and Kodo Tikki, students showcased how these recipes could be both quick to prepare and packed with essential nutrients, making them ideal for growing children.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of Government Home Science College, praised the initiative, highlighting the importance of introducing children to healthy eating habits from a young age and the value of traditional foods like millets in supporting overall growth and development.
