Department of Human Development and Family Studies, PAU join hands with Ludhiana Lions in Indian Swachhata League
Today, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Community Science, PAU, Ludhiana along with Ludhiana Lions, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, participated in the Indian Swachhata league to promote ‘A swachh Bharat Mission Urban Initiative’.
Ludhiana, September 16, 2022: Today, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Community Science, PAU, Ludhiana along with Ludhiana Lions, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, participated in the Indian Swachhata league to promote ‘A swachh Bharat Mission Urban Initiative’. The motto behind the campaign was to make the city and its surrounding more greener than ever.
The campaign started with the plantation drive by the tiny tots of Laboratory Day Care Centre and Laboratory Nursery School of the department of Human Development and Family Studies. The event was initiated by Dr Deepika Vig, Head of the Department along with Dr. Poonam Preet Kaur (PCS), Joint Commissioner cum Zonal Commissioner Zone C, Ludhiana. Other faculty members, UG, PG students, parents, supervisors and staff of the centres also participated in the event. Dr. Vig requested parents, students and staff to adopt healthy life style to make Ludhiana city clean and breathable. She ensured full support to Ludhiana Lions in their all future endeavours. The little children were made aware about the correct way of segregation of different types of waste. They demonstrated quick learning of the concept of dry and wet waste when they threw the paper waste into the Green colour dustbins and the plastic waste in the Blue colour dustbin.
The campaign was a learning experience for the little children and helped in laying strong foundation for the brighter future of the country as the seeds of saving and maintaining environment were sown in their hearts to make the country more greener and shall be watered and nurtured by the faculty and staff of the department every day.
