Chandigarh, March 10, 2025: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised its Annual Sports Meet, here today.
The event aimed to promote fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students and faculty members. The sports meet was inaugurated by Prof. Rupak Chakravarty, Chairperson, who addressed the participants and audience with an insightful speech on the importance of sports and physical well-being in daily life. He emphasised that maintaining an active lifestyle enhances not only physical health but also mental well-being and productivity in academic and professional spheres.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and fierce competition. Spectators cheered for the athletes, creating an electrifying atmosphere on the sports ground.The department conducted various events such as 100-meter race for boys and girls, three leg race, Tug of war followed by a Cricket match. After the conclusion of the events, students were provided with refreshments, including energy drinks, fruits, and light snacks, to help them re-energize.
