Departments directed to immediately fill all vacant posts

Chandigarh, August 17, 2012: The Punjab government today issued directions to various departments to take necessary steps to fill all vacant posts in their departments expeditiously.

According to an official spokesman, the recent Cabinet meeting had taken a decision to fill all vacant posts in Local Government department, Panchayati Raj Institutions without any delay. The Cabinet also decided to fill all vacant posts in revenue generating and revenue spending departments immediately.

The spokesman said that all Financial Commissioner/Principal Secretaries/Administrative Secretaries have been issued directions to take steps to fill all the vacant posts with immediate effect and send compliance report to the Cabinet branch for the information of Chief Minister
