Dept of Anthropology at PU celebrated 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay
The Department of Anthropology at Panjab University, in collaboration with Boys Hostel No. 5, celebrated 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay today by organizing a grand event to honour the valour and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War.
Chandigarh, July 26, 2024: The Department of Anthropology at Panjab University, in collaboration with Boys Hostel No. 5, celebrated 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay today by organizing a grand event to honour the valour and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War.
The function was organized with utmost reverence and enthusiasm in the august presence of distinguished dignitaries; hundreds of students, staff graced the occasion to make it a memorable occasion.
Ishwar Singh Duhan, Inspector General (Retd), ITBP was the Chief Guest and eminent speakerof the function, whose illustrious career and deep insights into national security provided a profound perspective on the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas. His address to the gathering was both inspiring and reflective, highlighting the bravery of the soldiers and the strategic importance of the Kargil victory.
Y P Verma, Registrar of Panjab University, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. His words of encouragement and acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by the armed forces resonated with the audience, further emphasizing the importance of remembering and honoring our heroes.
The event was further enriched by the presence of esteemed guests including Prof. Amit Chauhan, DSW, Prof. Simrit Kahlon, DSW (Women), Prof. Naresh Kumar, ADSW, and Prof. Dinesh Kumar from the Department of Laws.Dr. J S Sehrawat, Chairperson, Deptt of Anthropology & Warden BH-5, welcomed the dignitaries with bouquet and a plant pot to mark the 'en ped maan ke naam’ initiative of Govt. of India.
