Deputy Commissioner reviews development projects

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday reviewed the progress of various development projects district Ludhiana. A meeting in this regard was held at Bachat Bhawan office here, which was attended by Additional Chief Administrator (ACA) Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) Bhupinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC Jagraon) Neeru Katyal Gupta and SDM (Raikot) Dr Himanshu Gupta besides others.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of hi-tech cycle valley at village Dhanansu and the upcoming international airport at Halwara beside other ongoing projects under the Ludhiana Smart City Ltd.
Varinder Sharma informed that the Punjab government is coming up with Hi-Tech Cycle Valley in an area of 380 acres of land at village Dhanansu, out of which 100-acre land had already been allotted to M/s Hero Cycle Limited. He said that to provide uninterrupted power supply to this cycle valley, 30 acres of land has been allotted to PSPCL for setting up of 400KVA Sub-station, the work of internal development of remaining 250 acres i.e. concrete roads, storm drains, sewerage system, electrical trench, water supply network has been started at the site and will be completed soon, construction of concrete approach road and High-Level Bridge over Buddha Nullah is in progress.
He informed that the 161.2703-acre land required for the construction of this the civil terminal has already been acquired and GLADA has taken possession of the said land. He said that they would try to get the construction of runway completed on priority basis along with the construction of the terminal building so that the international flights can start operating from here soon.
Deputy Commissioner said that he would be himself monitoring the development projects and directed officers that no laxity will be tolerated.
